Nuke has the same problem, but is nowhere near the affordable price point of Houdini Indie. There shouldn't be a case where you are jumping Houdini Licenses, because that would be a flaw in your pipeline and not entirely the softwares fault. Other than the max license per company you will be able to work fully on Indie alone. Can open Houdini FX files with no problem. Most freelancers and indie companies use this. Has everything but company revenue shouldn't exceed 100k. It's more of a problem with how willing you are to learn and less of a corporate practice. I spent 4 years using Houdini Apprentice alone before switching to indie, and I'm grateful for the option of free education. Houdini Apprentice, like it implies, is non-commercial for education only. Licensing and file incompatibility makes it too much of a risk of getting stuck with your project no longuer opening. How about the FX pieces? Do those work well with UE4? What’s the general workflow for working with Houdini?
